Community Project - CF3:Grow Share Eat

A new community project has been set up on the East side of Cardiff, We have spoke to the Trowbridge Pantry Manager & Leader of Trowbridge CF3:Grow Share Eat Programme is Judy Price to find out some more information.

1. Hey Judy, So how did you get in to this?
The pandemic not only took away jobs / incomes it took away so much more .. it took away loved ones/ friends and family
2. Have you seen a difference in your community since starting?
Yes , The community are more interactive than before covid
3. What is your goal?
-To fill tummies and not let anyone go to bed hungry
-To help people learn to grow their own food
-To bring about a community programme that helps the community help itself
4. Do you have a team or is this a solo project?
I work freelance and currently employed by Britannia Church / CAST - CoronaVirus Action St Mellons and Trowbridge / Eastern High to bring about a Your Local Panty for Trowbridge Cardiff East, So KICKSTARTING it and getting it up and running
Once the project is open .. which hopefully will be 18th June then volunteers will help run the Pantry when its open on a Friday
I also run Trowbridge CF3: Grow Share Eat .. a community based project focusing on helping people grow their own food whether it be on a windowsill / in a container or in a patch of garden .. and the project also develops programmes for other organisations around well being and food engagement
Also, I run ABOUTORAMA which makes short community based films
When i'm not doing any of the above. I produce electronic music and work as a Sound Engineer / Music Artist 5. What can you offer to the community?
A community project that helps them choose what they would like to happen in their community and help them make it happen 6. Why is teaching young children these skills important to you?
Teaching , Counselling and Wellbeing are very important skills to have and to share with others
that way we all achieve
7. What are your plans for the future?
To get lottery funding and build a purpose built community building with a community cafe, community food pantry, youth provision , and provision and space for the community to be able to run activities and community events ... and even a community garden / growing project, because, why not !
