Music Artist of the Month: MACE THE GREAT

If you haven't herd of Mace, you must be living under a rock - we caught up with him to find out more about his creative process in music.

1. How long have you been making music for?

I’ve been making music for over 10 years now.

2. What is the process for making a track, Do you use the same producer or mix it up each time?

Sometimes I have the lyric first, other times I’ll find a beat that I feels right up my street and then write lyrics. I try not to restrict myself to one producer so I’m happy to mix it up abit.

3. Your music videos are great too - How do you find the ideas and creative process behind them?

Me and the videographer would listen to the song and see what comes to mind when visualising the video. Put all our ideas out on the table and meet in the middle somewhere.

4. Which local artist would you like to collab with? & Why ?

M9ine & Juice Menace because they both bring their own unique style regardless of the genre.

5. What tunes are on your playlist at the mo?

6. How has lockdown effected you creatively?

I don’t think my creativity was effected in a bad way by the lockdown. I looked at it as a positive rather than a negative and chose to be productive.

7. What is your greatest achievement to date? & Why ?

Biggest achievement.....Collaborating with Cardiff City FC for the 2021/22 kit launch by having ‘My Side Of The Bridge’ as the soundtrack. Growing up in Cardiff and supporting Cardiff City FC goes without saying! To now get to a point we’re the club is now showing me support is surreal.
