Music Artist of the Month:BENJI WILD

Congrats BenjiWild on being our Music Artist of the Month - We love your new album Skull & Bones!

1. How long have you been making music for?

I’ve been making music for most of my life in some way or another but I only started recording and releasing songs in my early teens.

2. What is the process for making a track?

Sometimes I’ll sit with a producer I like and we go back and forth with ideas for the beat and other times I get sent beats and write to them. I tend to write songs pretty fast so once an idea hits me, the whole song is usually done in the same day.

3. Your music videos are great too - How do you find the ideas and creative process behind them?

Each song has a different vibe so I try to encapsulate the energy of the song into the video. I like each visual to be as different as possible in order to keep things fresh.

4.What tunes are on your playlist at the mo?

I’ve been listening to a lot of drum and bass lately. High contrast, DRS, Traumatik. I’ve recently discovered ‘Amapiano’, a sound coming out of South Africa which is great listening.

5.How did you manage to get great artist to feature on your album?

I’ve been friends with some great talents for a while so I reached out to the people that I like to listen to and I was lucky that they were all game to get some work done together.

6. What if your personal fav track on the album?

My personal favourite is ‘Fade away’. I think it’s a feel good song that everyone can get down with.

7. What is your greatest achievement to date? & Why ?

Becoming a father. The music is great and of course I had some incredible experiences with Astroid Boys but being a dad and watching my daughter grow up is a whole different level of achievement.

8. Whats in store for Benji Wild next?

I’m going to enjoy Christmas and the new year, go on holiday to Egypt then get back in the studio for another album next year.
