Vozie

1. How long have you been smashing graffiti ?

I've been painting for about four years now, but been pushing it commercially for about a year or two.

2. How did you get into it?

I lived in Grangetown as a child and Sevenoaks Park was right next door. I used to walk though there all the time after school, in awe of all the different styles and colours combinations. We have a lot of insane graffiti artists in Cardiff, I'm very lucky to grow up around it all.

3. What's your favourite art piece to date?

I think my favourite piece would have to be the Green Tara on the Yoga and Buddhist centre in Roath last summer. I was so grateful to be able to paint the wall for them and the feedback from the community was overwhelming. It felt really nice to be able to do something positive for the public, and its something I definitely want to do more of! I've been trying to challenge myself to paint portraits the last few months as well and I'm really enjoying them.

4. What's your favourite colour to use ?

I loveeee any kind blue! Although turquoise/green kinda blues are my favourites

5. What have you been up to during lock-down?

I've actually started a little online store during lockdown, which shows work I have for sale that isn't necessarily graffiti/aerosol based - Vozi Store. I've been drawing a lot of portraits, illustration for prints, cartoon canvases and been working on some abstract kinda styles well! I've been lucky enough to be able to work through the lockdown, so balancing that and studio time is pretty much my lockdown!

6. Who would you love to collab with & why?

There are soooo many sick artists in the UK that I would love to work with! I've always been blown away by big murals in the middle of big cities.. . So big that they become apart of the skyline! Works by Nomad Clan, Annatomix, Hazard and Dan Kitchener especially, so it would be a dream to work with any of them!!

7. What Inspires you do paint?

The madddd world we live in haha! It's very much an escape, as is any other art form, but being outside painting on a summers day is definitely my kinda therapy!

8 .What can we expect for the future?

More paintings, in more cities, with other artists! Also got a lot of secret works ready to drop on Vozi Store, so keep an eye out!!
