We wanted to to Congratulate all the winners across the board, We were lucky enough to speak to two winners who are from Cardiff.

1.How does it feel to win the award for best hair salon 2021?

Hey, oh my gosh thank you so much! I was speechless! Its overwhelming and everyday I still think, wow people believe in me and my journey 😊

2.What have you the idea to start up the salon?

The idea has been there ever since I was a young girl, clients often say how they remember me always saying I'd have my own salon. My concept behind it however came through the pandemic. When myself as a hairstylist and other-small businesses all got hit. I couldn't work and promote my skill and my business and financially I had to seek other jobs, just like my fellow business peers. Seeing how bad we were all hit gave me the initiative to open up my space to other small businesses for them to be able to promote their products to all different clientele. We had pop up stalls which allowed food and drinks vendors in and we even had a clothes shop!

3.What does the future of Marley’s Roots look like?

The future of Marleys Roots is to have a chain of businesses in the creative industry that will provide platforms to others to showcase their skill and provide their services 💜

1.How does it feel to win the award for best online retailer 2021?

I feel absolutely overwhelmed, I cannot believe the dream I began to make a reality last Oct has now won an Award. Unbelievable. Thank you to everyone that voted it means so much.

2.What gave you the idea to start up She Can Closet?

As a petite black woman I am unrepresented in all aspects. Creating a brand that represents people like me and puts the typically unseen and real sized women in the forefront of fashion was something I wasn't going to wait for someone else to do. Real women especially black women need true representation in the fashion industry.

3. What does the future of She Can Closet look like?

The future is very much bright and I will continue to grow and create more businesses in different sectors with the strong She Can Closet message of equality and inclusiveness running through all of them. There will be many She Can Ventures it won't stop at fashion.
